"I'm A Good Old Rebel" was a confederate hate song. It was written after the Civil War and expressed deep feeling about how the Confederates felt about the war and the Yankees. The Yankees were the Union soldiers. After the War, Confederates didn't look for forgiveness and still wanted to kill more Union soldiers.
